Granny's Fav: Strawberry Yakult Cheesecake

Hi everyone :)

This strawberry yakult cheesecake is a modified version of my previous post: grape yakult cheesecake. This time, I crushed the biscuits a little coarser and added a layer of strawberry jelly ontop of the mousse.

Everyone especially grandma loved it!~

Granny's Fav: Watermelon Tarts

Hi everyone~

Here's another one I created especially for my granny: Watermelon tarts.....!!!

These pictures speak a million words. :) :)

Took me a while to figure how to do the "watermelon skin".... and using real watermelon juice for the filling.

I am really happy with the result and had a lot of fun!

Hope you all love them as much as my granny and the rest of our family did....

Look out for the next granny's fav: Strawberry Yakult Cheesecake!!!

Enjoy!~

Granny's Fav: Brown Sugar & Ginger Sponge Cake

Hi everyone!~

Guess where I am...

I'm right here in Malaysia visiting my dear granny. She's always supportive and encouraging towards my baking passion. Granny is my no.1 supporter and I love her so very much.

Today, she gave me this very meaningful and thoughtful precious gift....

It's a golden rice bowl...with a pair of golden chopsticks and golden spoon. It's her way of expressing her happiness and also to reward me for scoring well in my baking exam. I am really happy that she is so proud of me.

As I was sitting at the hall today, I noticed the wall covered with pictures of the cakes or pastry I've baked. It was a big surprise to see all my works on my granny's wall... and I'm touched right inside my heart. My granny is the kindest and most generous person I have ever met.....

For my number 1 supporter, I came up with 3 new creations (granny in my mind and heart)....that I hope she will enjoy and always remember.

First on the list.... brown sugar and ginger sponge cake...

Granny LOVES ginger! She will chew ginger pieces stir fried in veggies... ginger slices in steamed fish... ginger tea.. ginger jam.... and even ginger chocolate. Yes. That's how much she loves ginger. She says ginger can help get rids of her wind, helps with digestion, and its good for health. :)

This is my brown sugar & ginger sponge cake, made with freshly squeezed ginger juice! I used dark brown sugar and cut down on the amount of sugar because granny don't like it too sweet.

Here it is....

You'll love this cake if you love ginger!

Grandma simply loved it because it's not too sweet (used dark brown sugar)... so did everyone else here in our family. :)

Look out for the next one! Granny's Fav: Watermelon Tarts!!

Enjoy!~~

Milk Toast

Hello...

I love making bread and the smell of fresh bread in the morning. Besides, it is so simple to make!

Bread sold commercially are filled with chemicals, bread improvers etc....so that they will stay fresh longer. So everytime you bite into those super soft, fluffy, and "never seems to mould" bread you bought from the store... think about what you are feeding your body.

I made this milk bread without any of these chemicals...

Let's 'Toast' to good life! Cheers :)

Enjoy!!~

Eileen
